Hey there,
as always - it's been a while...
But I have great news: One week ago I moved to Tromsø, Norway. I will be there for one year to start my masters program in physics at UiT - the northernmost university in the world.
To keep you all updated I created an Instagram account where you can see crappy cellphone pictures of my daily life and travel and stuff. Better photos will hopefully follow soon.

Until now Tromsø is an awesome - nearly too good to be true - place to live. I got a forest right next to my housing and I can see mountains and the sea from my window.

What more could I ever wish for?

I also got super friendly flatmates (three of them being Norwegians, one French guy and a German girl) and I am also really really really looking forward to my classes. They start on Thursday. I am so excited and happy!

See you guys soon!

Between Realities

Dear readers,
once again I am a joyous participant in an exhibition.
The exhibition itself - organized by the Master’s program Photographic Studies - complements the international symposium "Between Realities" at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Dortmund.

\\ the exhibition \\
"The contributions of this fourth exhibition in the series #photographic #studies disclose insights into BA and MA projects, which are dedicated to the examination and visualization of a factually ambivalent and often seldom consistent reality, while experimenting with the concepts of documentary photography.

\\ the symposium \\
"Between Realities" is a one-day symposium addressing diverse photographic positions, which challenge the prevailing modes of visual representation and their supposed factual depiction of reality through the photographic medium.
Several international artists have been invited, who in practice blur the borders between fact and fiction, thus re-imagining and subverting the traditional visual conception of the documentary genre.
The intention of the presentations is to open a discussion about the truth of an absolute "objective" photographic replication of reality. Is the reproduction of a pictorial unadulterated "objective truth" an erroneous belief, a goal neither viable nor desirable?"

Exhibition Opening
13.01.2017 – 19:00
Fachhochschule Dortmund
Galerie fb2, Department of Design
Max-Ophüls-Platz 2
44137 Dortmund

I'll be there and I would be glad to see some of you there too.

Hey there,
it's been a while.
As you all can imagine - studying physics is not quite the easiest thing to do. As a result I've been pretty absorbed with my studies and work this last year. But I have been travelling in my spare time and therefore I treasured up a whole bunch of photographs. I've been to the Alps twice (which was rather shocking because of the immense mass loss of the glaciers) and visited Scotland for the first time. Scotland is really beautiful in march and the lack of tourists is a huge bonus too. If you're not scared of camping in the snow, you have to give it a try!

Currently I'm working on a series about the strange and sometimes desolate beauty of our planet. It'll probably take some time until it's finished but I just wanted to say - I'm still alive.

The forgotten side of the massif.
On our way to the chalet Orny at the Swiss part of the Mont Blanc massif.

Vernissage 7/46
